Where we work
We are based in Miami-Dade, so most of our work is in Miami-Dade and Broward. We also take jobs up the coast to St. Lucie, across to Naples and Fort Myers, and in Central Florida. Each local page covers who issues the permit there, the code that applies and the kind of roofs on the houses.
Why the county matters for your roof
The Florida Building Code defines the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) as Broward and Miami-Dade counties, and no other county. Palm Beach, Martin and the rest of the state follow the code's general roofing rules, unless a local government there has adopted the HVHZ provisions (FBC Section 1512.2 allows that).1,2
